Newlyweds :: Matthew + Teresa

Matthew and Teresa were my first couple to book this year and my last wedding of the season — can’t think of a better way to wrap up my first full wedding season after super-long-maternity leave and a full October to boot! Bonus fun fact: Both my first and last weddings of the season were Team Mizzou alumni marriages…#mizzoureclove!

And without any further adieu…

The bride and her ladies…can’t forget beautiful mom!

Teresa and Matthew shared their first look on the rooftop of the hotel…always one of my favorite parts of a wedding day!

Um…hello, gorgeous!

Quick #sisterselfie on the trolley and then we were at our special destination!

jsp_021

Yes. Yes we did. Spend an hour in the beautiful Busch Stadium. Taking all the photos. The rain held off, it was perfectly overcast so we could shoot whichever direction we wanted to, and it was ah.maz.ing.

Love these shots that Erin got of the boys on the dugout…those socks!

A is for Amen. (Sidenote: best wedding hashtag ever…#CanIGetanAmen)

jsp_028

Love this shot of the bride and her attendants — we’ve got dress lifters, photo documentation and exclaiming…it’s the perfect representation of the mood of the day. ALSO, please note the lovely lady in the black dress and apron…that’s Christine of Celebrations of Love wedding planning and she is amazing to work with! I’ve never seen someone so cool, calm and collected all.day.long. She was on top of every last detail and was dedicated to making sure Teresa and Matthew’s day went at smoothly as possible…if I didn’t know better, I’d say she pulled some strings to make the rain hold off the WHOLE TIME we were out taking photos.

I could not get enough of these flowers!! Maybe it’s the “October” factor and the fact that everything else is dying and all orange-y and brown, but these colors were just perfect!!

On our pit stop through the stadium underground, I stole the happy couple away for a quick “shot” at the bar…because when you’re in private clubhouse territory, you make the most of it, am I right?!

jsp_037

Then we had time for a few more photos on the SLU campus across from the church grounds…I wanted to make sure we had a little bit of that fall foliage!

jsp_038
jsp_039

We may have been seconds away from getting shooed out of the church before the ceremony for these…but this and some of the others in the doorway are some of my favorites from the day, so it was worth it, right? Don’t be mad, church lady…

Shoutout to the best second-shooting-sidekick ever…Erin had to jet out right after the ceremony to make it over to the Caramel Room to get detail shots and she made me PROMISE to get some shots of the newlyweds with the big wooden church doors. She was right…totally worth it.

The Caramel Room at Bissingers is a beautiful venue — so many fun details and a great flow of the space. Loved all the coordinating touches of the place cards with the ceremony programs and other small signs (can’t help my inner graphic designer).

Another first for me…the shoe game! Teresa’s sister Joanna’s speech involved a fun game where Matthew and Teresa answered questions based on the couple using their shoes. The friendly competition and laughing over strengths (and just a couple of weaknesses) was a perfect way to welcome them into marriage!

[I have no idea who that gal in the green hat is…the one with the camera…dancing with a couple of friends from the Rec. Because when “Yeah” comes on…”how the heck am I supposed to leave?!” Ok. It was me.]

Surprise late night treat for guests…Ted Drewe’s Frozen Custard – the best St. Louis has to offer!
