Hello again…it’s time to share another gorgeous fall Cedar Creek wedding! You may remember Katy and Chad (and Mac!) from their February engagement session — thankfully their October wedding was a bit less chilly (but no less “cute”, amiright guys?!) and full of so many fun moments to capture. Katy and Chad had such a relaxed approach to their big day, making for minimal stress and lots of laughs with their close family and friends.
[Also, this is my second-to-last wedding of the season, and while I’m ready for some more downtime…I won’t be guilty of under-sharing. This is a long one, folks.]
As a Mary Kay consultant, Katy had the products and confidence to execute her own bridal makeup without flaw. While this may have stressed out most other brides, she was a professional and it seemed to even be calming to her…even as the small bathroom may have been over some unspoken occupancy limit!
Oh, please. That belt. #thesparkles
The men got ready for the day in the bigger room in the lodge, and we had fun taking advantage of the rustic space. Luckily Chad’s brother was on hand to tie the men’s ties…all of them.
A sweet first look moment on the back deck of the lodge.
A bride that can pull off a denim jacket with her wedding gown? Katy, you were stunning!
I’m a sucker for outdoor doors (um…yep?)…and flowers in jars on hooks (ooookay)…and a well-designed program. #checkcheckcheck
Perhaps my favorite part of the ceremony/bridal party? While the adorable ring bearer was a major contender, Chad’s Granny as the flower girl stole my heart! It was perfect.
An exit kiss and victory arms from the mother of the groom…the marriage is official! #thallyouneedislove
And then the newlyweds got some time in front of my lens in the best light of the day…I was not unhappy. Look at these two!
Boom. (Oh, yes. There’s a series.)
Seriously…I could have shot there ALL. DAY. LONG. (I know…brevity is kind of the whole deal with that.)
Perhaps the first major action taken as a newlywed couple was to further the mission of #WorldPieDomination by serving an irresistible selection of Peggy Jean’s Pies. It was a beautiful, beautiful thing.
So was the “groom’s cake. (Yes, the mini bottles of whiskey. Tiered.)
The party got started off with toasts followed by pie-cutting and first dances, before the dance floor filled…and the men (and some women!) migrated outside to the TV alternating between the Cubs game and the Mizzou football game. (I’m telling you, these two are fun!)
